When I first walked on water back in 2003, the mentality was that I was above any rap issues concerning who was the best spitter or how popular I was. Many years later, “Walk on Water IV” became the title track once it embodied every aspect of what it took for me to overcome the adversity of hating the mirror. For a few years, I had reached a point of uncertainty about my career, my love life, and my future. I wanted to be invisible so I could be noticed. It took music to serve as my therapy (thank you AJ), combined with the agony that came with failure, and ultimately surrendering to the thought of mortality to bring me around and be metaphorically resurrected. I couldn’t imagine being a father and husband then…now…I am.
