about

“Please push me, ‘cause I’m close to the edge…” Reading it out loud sounds self-deprecating, but the theme of the piece is focused on the outside noises that sometimes get inside…our heads. There is a way to transform any negative energy we receive into positivity, and you don’t have to do it alone. While many of us believe in a higher power, we must also believe in ourselves. That belief may waive as haters, strangers, and “frienemies” have so much to say. Michael Jordan made up stories in his head involving something his opponent said about him in order to give him the extra push he needed to compete at a high level every night he suited up. He used their words, even if they weren’t always real, to motivate greatness.

The second part of “The Edge” is crafted by none other than Black Metaphor. I have been sitting on this track for some time. The energy builds to a high level of anticipation and suspense as the acceptance speech drags on to reveal the reasons for my course, and my ability to welcome all detractors converting them into factors.
